Get ready for a football-themed evening of fun
The North Suburban YMCA welcomes The Journey of Hope bike team on July 26, 2016. This year marks their 30th cross-country ride as well as their seventh annual friendship visit to the NSYMCA. The theme of this year’s visit is “Football for All” where a player from the Northwestern University football team will make a special appearance. Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association and North Shore Youth Football will also be joining the celebration.
What is the Journey of Hope?
During their ride through 32 different states, Journey of Hope visits local groups that support people with disabilities. The Ability Experience organizes this event with the mission “to instill lifelong service in its members and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.” This philanthropic organization is solely comprised of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity members.
What to Expect…
Activities include a “meet and greet”, fun football drills, a wheelchair football game and of course, food! Noodles & Company and Home Depot will be donating all food and drinks for the reception. Don’t forget to wear your favorite football team jersey to the event! More information can be found on the Northbrook Patch. RSVP for the event by July 20th by calling the Y at (847) 272-7250 x 1215 or emailing Kim Nyren at [email protected].
