Happy 2017! Most of us begin each new year reflecting on the choices we’ve made and setting goals for improving our lives in the year to come. Popular New Year’s resolutions usually revolve around losing weight, joining a gym and eating healthier foods. The quest to be the healthiest version of ourselves continues! When the American College of Sports Medicine predicted the top 10 fitness trends for 2017, I was excited to see that body weight training ranked #2…I love simple exercises that can be done anywhere. Body weight training helps increase lean muscle mass, especially when combined with aerobic activity. The gift of this type of exercise is that it allows people to get “back to the basics” with fitness. Using minimal or even no equipment, perfect routine for quick office workouts or travel.
