On Saturday, October 22nd, we witnessed a magical moment in Chicago’s history. After 71 years of waiting, praying, and A LOT of patience…the Cubs are returning to the World Series!! For the first time since 1945, our beloved Chicago Cubs will compete to be named the World Champions of 2016. Whether you’re a baseball fan or not, it’s safe to say that this once in a lifetime shared experience has brought our community together in an exciting way. Fans flooded the streets to celebrate Cubs NLCS victory chanting “Go Cubs Go” as they laughed, cried and hugged.

I was blessed to share this memorable night with my longtime friend, Al Wald. You might recognize him from his days as Arizona State University’s mascot Sparky. Al and I both attended ASU after graduating from Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook. Both of us being dedicated Cubs fans since our youth, Al had to come to town to watch the NLCS games with me.

Al’s days as Sparky…

GO CUBS GO!
