Walk for Kidneys Comes To Lincoln Park Saturday, June 25th

Frank G. Karkazis met life-long friend Sandi Gordon when they attended Arizona State University together. Frank was saddened when Sandi’s son Eric was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. This year, Frank is excited to support Team Gordon with the “Walk for Kidneys” event in Chicago. The walk takes place on Saturday, June 25th, 2016. Registration & Check-In open at 8:00 am, and the Walk starts at 9:30 am. Starting point: Lincoln Park, Grove 2 (at Clark St. & LaSalle Dr.)

Personal Letter From The Gordon Family

Dear Family and Friends,

We write with the hope you will support the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois For Kidneys Walk scheduled for Saturday, June 25th at Lincoln Park Clark/Lasalle 9:30 am. The NKFI is very close to our hearts. At the age of 2, Eric was diagnosed with Bilateral Vesicular Reflux. After four major surgeries and countless other procedures, he had one functioning kidney and hypertension — our lives with CKD had just begun. We were in a fog overwhelmed with questions and needed some guidance. Luckily, the NKFI was there to support us and we were surrounded by people with a similar situation to our own. Our family has been walking this event for over a decade now and it’s truly a wonderful experience. Eric lost his kidney three years ago…he rarely feels well as he endures countless medical tests and procedures to figure out what’s causing his pain. It’s not an easy way to go through life but it helps with all of your love and support. We hope that you can join us on this special day to help raise awareness about this organization.

If you can’t join us but you would like to donate to Team Gordon:
Payable to : National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, c/o walk for kidneys (Team Gordon)

Mail to: Sandi Gordon 1935 Smith Rd. Northbrook, IL 60062
Thank you in advance for your support. We hope to see you at Lincoln Park on June 25!

Sincerely,
Sandi Gordon and Family
